You know what the hardest part of making this magazine is? Holding back... I'm constantly stopping myself from including things in the publication because of the dreaded file size. A snippet of my duality:

"YEAH! I'll just put in this 830k sound file... and this big beautiful picture...and this 20MB Quicktime!! Ye-"
"Wait wait wait.. You can't do that. No one will download it.."
"But it would be SO FUCKING COOOOL!!!"
"Yeah but-"
"Shut UP!"
"You shut up, you're the-"
"Go away, I can't think with y-"
"I can't, we're attached."


And so, I'm left to squish, cram, and shrink things as small as they will go (well, not too much, it still has to look good..). I just want to empty my whole damn hard drive into the magazine, upload megs and megs of entertainment...

"Okay, I'm going to digitize the complete works of Pink Floyd and upload it in page three."
"That won't work, there's seriously not enough space for that.."
"Okay, I'll use a bernoulli too"
(glare)
"Okay I'll downlample it"

"I'll MACE it"
"It's not going to-"
"I'll record it at 11khz....7khz......"
(sigh)
"Is there any way to get 4 bit 2khz sound? Not even mono, just half a channel?"
"No."
"Shit... you can't have any fun around here...."


And I'm sitting here with my cereal turning soggy because I want to write this 'cause I know I'll forget what I'm saying if I don't put it down right now... The wonders of modern technology. I think I'll include a special font, just so I can use a special font. Let's see.. something TrueType... Dobkin Script... coolness. You know what the most annoying thing of Docmaker? The lack of custom color for text.. You can't get that.... mood that you'd like to get across with the right shade of one color or another.
